Dr Robert Drielsma is a fully qualified Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon. His basic medical degree was completed at the University of Sydney in 1982. During this time he also completed a Bachelor or Science degree.

Dr Drielsma trained in General surgery becoming a Fellow of the Australasian College
of Surgeons (FRACS) in 1990. He then entered advanced training in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in Sydney qualifying in this discipline in 1993.

Following Plastic and Reconstructive training in Sydney, Dr Drielsma spent three (3) years in overseas fellowships in London and Paris specializing in cosmetic plastic Surgery.
Dr Drielsma has developed special interest and expertise in the field of Body lifting and body contouring following moderate to massive weight loss. He has pioneered the introduction of body lifting to Sydney and offers a wide range of body contouring procedures following weight loss including Body lift, inner thigh lift, arm lift and breast lift as well as face lifting. Dr Drielsma regularly lectures and participates in educational panels on body lifting and body contouring surgery.

Dr Jake Lim FRCSEd FRACS is a fully qualified Sydney trained Plastic Surgeon specialising in cosmetic & body conturing surgery procedures. Dr Lim is currently a member of the Australian Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), the Australian Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (ASAPS) and a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS). The letters FRACS are an indication of successful completion of specialist surgery training and the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons is the only statutory recognised body for training surgeons in Australia.

After completing five years of medical training at The University of Sydney and following his passion for surgery, Dr Lim embarked on a further 15 years of general and plastic surgery training before being awarded his FRACS in both general and plastic surgery under the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. At the completion of his plastic surgery training, Dr Lim visited centres in the United Kingdom and Europe to further his interest and knowledge in cosmetic surgery.

Dr Lim took an active role in educating and training future plastic surgeons in one of Sydney’s major teaching hospitals. This work involved the use of microsurgery and other reconstructive techniques to restore a patient to normality following trauma or disease. This background of reconstructive surgery is an important foundation for Dr Lim’s expertise in cosmetic surgery.

Dr Fee Lai

Dr Lai graduated in Medicine from the University of NSW in 1972. After internship he trained in General Surgery. Following further examinations, he was in 1978 awarded the Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. Dr Lai was then recognised as a specialist surgeon by the Health Insurance Commission of Australia.
Dr. Lai undertook further training in plastic surgery at the Prince of Wales Hospital in Sydney and was the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons’ Fellow at the reputable Frenchay Hospital Plastic Surgery Unit in Bristol in the United Kingdom.

He returned to Sydney in 1982 and started a private practice in plastic surgery. He became a member of the Australian Society of Plastic Surgeons and also the Australasian Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons. Dr Lai was appointed as a visiting plastic surgeon to Westmead Teaching Hospital, Concord Teaching Hospital and Auburn Teaching Hospital. During the early years, he practised reconstructive as well as cosmetic plastic surgery.

Over 15 years ago, Dr Lai changed his practice profile by performing only cosmetic plastic surgery. He regularly carries out body sculpting procedures as well as cosmetic breast surgery. These include breast enlargements, breast lifts, breast reductions and mummy makeovers. He also performs tummy tucks, lipectomy and liposuction. Dr Lai has also appeared on TV programs such as Good Medicine and Sex Life performing cosmetic surgery procedures.

Shannon is a fully registered accredited practising dietitian and member of the Dietitians Association of Australia (DAA). She has both clinical and research experience and holds two appointments:

  • University of Sydney (research dietitian)
In her clinical role at SIOS Shannon specialises in nutritional management before and after weight loss surgery. She has extensive experience supporting clients though their life-changing journey; guiding them through every step of their gastric banding, sleeve gastrectomy, or Roux-en-Y gastric bypass. In her research position at University of Sydney, Shannon develops, co-ordinates and delivers group-based dietary interventions for weight loss, and weight loss maintenance on an international diabetes prevention trial.
Prior to her nutrition degrees, Shannon studied Commercial Cookery at Ryde College of TAFE. She completed her apprenticeship in 2003 becoming a qualified chef, and she has over six years’ cooking experience in the hospitality industry.
Shannon believes that the need for support does not stop after weight loss surgery. She strives to provide quality ongoing care to help her clients make the most of their procedure, and to improve their overall quality of life. With her unique combination of academic and culinary skills Shannon’s goal is to help her patients make eating healthy foods as easy as possible.
